Bewley Family
Oliver Hazard Perry Bewley
Occasionally I will find an area of the website where photos were lost in the computer crash and were not re-uploaded to the database. This is the case with the photos of the Bewley Family. I apologize to the Bewley family for this oversight. The pictures are now uploaded and attached to the correct family members.
Oliver Hazard Perry Bewley married Charlotte Fitzjerrell October 27, 1830 in Warren County, Ohio. Charlotte and Oliver had six children: Amanda, Daniel, Eli, Malinda, William and Charles. Charlotte died October 9, 1840 in Montgomery County, Illinois and is buried in the Cass/Blugrass Cemetery. We did not find Charlotte’s tombstone on our first trip to the cemetery but were successful this winter finding and digging out the stone.
Oliver remarried Sarepta Meisenheimer February 9, 1841 in Montgomery County, Illinois. Oliver and Sarepta had nine children. Sarepta died on March 30, 1879 in Montgomery County, Illinois. Oliver then remarried Lockey Bandy.
Eli FitzJerrell Bewley son of Oliver and Charlotte fought in the Civil War and later along with his brother Daniel moved to California where their descendents remain today.
