Frank Behan marriage to Anna Winters

Behan-Winters Marriage

Francis P. Behan (Frank) was the youngest son of Andrew and Mary Dowling Behan.  Frank was born in Indiana about 1852.  We know of Frank from the obituary of Michael Behan, his brother.  The obituary states Michael had a brother Frank from Detroit, MI.  There were some suspect census records for Frank but nothing I was willing to commit to until I came across this little genealogy gem yesterday.

As you can see from the information on the marriage record this is our Frank.  Anna Winters was Frank’s landlady in the 1910 census and then his wife in 1920.  Winters is Anna’s last name from her first marriage.  She reports on the 1910 census she was the mother of four children, two living.  She also reports an immigration year of 1858.  Anna would have been just a baby when her family immigrated.  Her father’s name was Christian and mother Barbara.

I have not been able to find a burial location for Anna or Frank; I suspect it may be in the Detroit area.  Frank was alive in 1922, the time of Michael’s death but was not mentioned in his brother Daniel’s obituary in 1927 and can not be found in 1930.  There is a suspect census record for an Anna Behan in Chicago, born in Germany, living with her daughter.
